THAT OFFICE BELLE

Wanjiru-Kariuki

Having worked in the corporate world for over five years, I can say I have mastered the office dress code quite perfectly. I have worked in companies that are very strict when it comes to dressing and I have also worked in very easy environment. On this post I will be talking about peplum tops and pencil skirts…

When it comes to staples, a peplum top is a must have apparel in every woman’s closet. One may argue that it’s out of trend but I’m one person who is not a slave of trends. I believe in timeless classics which you can pull whether they are trending or not. It’s also too expensive to keep up with trends unless you are rolling with Mark Zuckerberg (kidding).

I believe it’s the femininity they boast by accentuating someone’s waist and flowing from the waist giving an illusion of enhanced curves. The other aspect is the fact that they can be worn by both slender and thick girls. Pair it with office pants or pencil skirt and you are ready to hit those set targets.

Pencil skirts are another staple women should invest in. The feminine silhouette it effortlessly offers makes this apparel just perfect to pair it up with any type of blouse. Pencil skirts fit like a glove giving a chic and sophisticated flair. For the office the short ones should slightly be above your kneecaps so that you do not expose too much skin or alternatively gravitate towards the long ones depending on how comfortable you are or how strict your work place is.

Invest in a perfect pair of black heels which can be paired with absolutely anything. Another item to invest in is a versatile handbag. As for makeup and accessories for the office, less is always good to avoid looking tacky.

I Just like the effort you put to drive your point…The Swahili wisdom says “Ukiona vyaelea jua vimeundwa” meaning when you see a boat floating know effort was put in creating it….it just don”t happen Keep floating dear…
