A three piece suit as the name suggests is defined by its three basic components .The Coat, the pants, and a waistcoat thrown into the mix. I look at it as the new layering essential, because it gives you the chance to layer without the assumption that you are trying too hard, so effortless.
The beauty about a three piece suit is that it graduates you from a basic formal look, to a more polished, suave clean look. You can ignore the Coat and just wear the waist coat for a chic and sophisticated appearance. Alternatively you can ignore the waist coat to achieve a simple basic look.
When it comes to choice of color, it all depends with your personality and the intent of wearing the suit. e.g. to work, a wedding ,or even to a red-carpet event .A three piece suit is a very versatile number . Choice of fabric could also range from plain fabrics, pinstriped fabric, checkered fabrics and hound’s-tooth fabric too. All this is influenced by personal choice, style and personality.
Styling a three piece suit is not rocket science .Especially when it comes to choice of blouse or top .Get one that compliments the color of your suit .For a bold colored suits, go for neutral colored blouses/tops and vice versa .Same applies to the choice of shoes .Apply personal style in your choices and you will surely stop traffic, literally.
